Pilot Summary

In the queendom of Lucumbria, five teens have dedicated their days to seeking out adventure and discovering all their home has to offer. When a new prophecy foretells a great and potentially fatal danger coming to Lucumbria, the five young adventurers seek out the unique opportunity to secretly follow Sir Henry, the beloved hero of their queendom, as he embarks on a perilous quest to stop the danger at hand. After some notable mischief, the five of them manage to sneak out at dawn to follow Sir Henry to watch him on a quest from the shadows. Instead, they fall witness to a tragic accident that puts their understanding of destiny, heroes, and the future in limbo. Now they are faced with a difficult decision: continue on in Sir Henry’s place to protect their homes and loved ones or turn around and head home. With the latter feeling too akin to giving up, Colin, Harding, Basilea, Asa, and Marlow must discover the true meaning of being a hero & define destiny on their own terms to keep Lucumbria safe.

Series Premise

The Unchosen Ones has the unique elements of fantasy and magic combined with a realistic narrative. This allows for near-endless possibilities for storylines, character arcs, and topics to explore, giving this story great scalability for long-term storytelling. The vision for season one focuses on changing the understanding of destiny that each of the core five holds as they accomplish the outlined tasks and discover their role in protecting Lucumbria with a secondary plot that helps to shape Lucumbria as a whole and the different type of people that make up this Queendom. Capturing this over an entire season is crucial to being able to accurately convey the complex struggles of understanding and challenging the existing constructs of destiny. Additional storylines for the future seasons include exploring those with magical abilities like Basilea and Harding, the dark side of Lucumbria, political issues with neighboring kingdoms and coercive diplomacy and so much more.

 Characters

Colin Fletcher

16. Average height for his age. A defining trait is the dimples that give him a natural and clumsy charm. He is the leader of the group and often takes the initiative in their adventures. Colin is vigilant and takes necessary precautions.

Asa Halloway

16. Broad build and is the strongest in the group. Looks similar to his sister, Marlow. Asa is the token voice of reason and is the neutral ground between Baz and Colin. Driven by both his temper and anxiety. He balances Colin’s dreamer-like optimism.

Harding Pruitt

15, taller than average. Stands out in a crowd due to his height and red hair. Chaotic & reckless, but has good intentions behind his actions. Comes from an upper-middle-class family, but uses that status to gain insights to share with his friends.

Basilea (Baz) Browne

15, shorter than average with dark brown hair and green eyes. She is often the brains behind any of Colin’s ideas. Rough around the edges, but is the most grounded in their group. Often gets pulled into Colin’s optimistic outlook.

Marlow Halloway

13. Youngest, but most emotionally mature and nurturing. Her wild hair is her most eye-catching trait. Looks similar to her brother, Asa. She is incredibly independent and confident. Mild-tempered, but can lash out like her brother when provoked.

Sir Henry of Lucumbria

20s. The epitome of what an Arthurian legend would look like: dashing and heroic, but impossibly humble and kind to all. Broad shoulders, bright eyes and a charming smile. He lets his desire to do the right thing drive him, regardless of the risks it presents.
