Kayla Anne Covert is a 28 year old Hispanic-American storyteller residing in Los Angeles, California. She spends her days crafting brand identities on social media for some of your favorite podcasts and tv shows. In the evening, she can be found drafting away her next story idea or spec script in hopes of creating one (or twenty) that will allow her to make her evening hobby become a daytime career. She is currently part of the Read Latinx Writers Initiative Year 2 cohort. Kayla is also a Quarterfinalist in this years’ The Script Labs Free Screenplay Competition with her script, The Unchosen Ones.
Despite being a bit of a chicken when it comes to the supernatural and all things spooky, her favorite genres to write are sci-fi, supernatural, realistic fantasy, and always through a dramatic comedy lens. She’s a firm believer in looking for the color and shine in this world so that often can be found woven throughout her stories as well. Key interests include her dog Frosty, the discography of Taylor Swift, and all things Nancy Drew.
