However, after a memorable night with her coworkers and an unexpected sleepover with her longtime office crush, Sebastian, Maya is stuck between staying and moving on. Fears of starting over make accepting this new job feel impossible and exploring whatever this is with Sebastian doesn’t make things any easier, leaving her with the difficult task of taking control of her own life.
Series Premise
Resigned is a limited series concept that focuses on the unique relationships we form during our 9-5 jobs and how so much of our lives can be influenced by those 40 hours during the week. Resigned takes place during the main character Maya’s two weeks notice from her longtime corporate job. It explores the chaos of being a “corporate millennial” and the desires we all have to be something more than what we are while making the most of what we currently have. Resigned also centers around a workplace romance and the challenges of making that work as both a hardworking Latina woman and as someone in their late 20s navigating dating in general. At its core, Resigned is meant to be a mirror of self-exploration and reflect the challenges and weird antics we all experience as we figure out how to find meaning and fulfillment in the life we’re living.
